Green Diwali

Green Diwali celebration is one of our school's prides. Right from the year of establishment, RAFL celebrates an eco-friendly Diwali. We hold the festival in a way that is more entertaining, inclusive, and sustainable. Avoiding fireworks during Diwali is a wise choice that not only protects the environment but also sets a positive example for future generations. We instill in our students the idea of “Green Diwali” and promote planting saplings and saving money to carry out pleasant deeds.

LWN (LIVING WITH NATURE)

One of the most important aspects of rearticulating human development is to emphasize the need for fairness to nature and other living beings. Students have an LWN session every week to explore and experience nature and develop self-responsibility and sense of gratitude towards nature. To focus on human- centred development and sustainability, we educate our RAFLites on how to live in harmony with nature. We have designed the curriculum for Living With Nature (LWN) class under the guidance of Prof. Kandasamy, Honorary Wildlife Warden, who has created awareness among 9 lakh + students for saving nature. To help the students develop a bond with nature, a nature educational camp is organised every year.

Face to face

In addition to learning from textbooks, our school facilitates Social Learning (learning from people), which CBSE encourages. Every ordinary person has something extraordinary to contribute to society. Through face-to-face programmes conducted at our school, students are introduced to eminent personalities from various walks of life. This interaction helps promote inspiration, acceleration in the right choice of a career, positive modelling and various other desirable outcomes.

Mother Child Trips

“Travelling in the company of those we love is home in motion.”– Leigh Hunt
This is one of the loveliest gestures of our school. Young travellers take trips with their mothers to beautiful places. Mothers are delighted to see their children’s eyes sparkling with wonder. This fosters a triangular bond between the school, mother and child. Testimonials from mothers are evidence of this unique practice.

SPECIALIZED COUNSELLOR

RAFL provides a specialized counselling support for the students, teachers and parents as part of our academic activity. The counsellor collects complete information on the child who is in need of help, whether it be academic or emotional. The counselor makes an observation of the child’s area of concern in order to understand the issue. Once the issue is identified, a behaviour management programme is prepared to address the concern of the child. All information of the child and the documentation are maintained confidentially by the counsellor.

STUDENTS WORKSHOPS

Workshops organised for students enable them to evaluate, stay up-to-date on your current events, comprehend concepts and build their network. Such sessions help students open up their discussions with the trainers and help them in physical, emotional, intellectual and social well-being.

Waste management

RAFL ensures that there’s an efficient waste management system in place that aims to reduce, reuse, and recycle. Waste management is a huge responsibility that needs to be inculcated in young minds. It is a learning resource which helps children identify different types of waste, and understand how each type can be recycled. We practise a waste management strategy where students collect recyclable plastic waste and e-waste every month from their home and around and dutifully send it for recycling – building a more sustainable generation! The students are promptly encouraged to continue promoting this attitude of environmental care. They are motivated and guided to reuse certain wastes to make productive items. This in return enhances their creativity.
